• Weld metal hardness approx. 57-62HRC, weld metal can only be
machined by grinding.
• Excellent weldability in all positions except
vertical down and overhead.
• Weld with DC positive pole or AC.
Important applications for Oerlikon Supradur 600RB Stick Electrodes:
Oerlikon SUPRADUR 600B is a thick basic, high-efficiency MMA electrode used for applying robust and wear-resistant surfaces to components subject to severe wear. It is used for hardfacing carbon steels and low-alloy steels against mineral wear and medium impact and shock. Preheating to 400°C is always required, especially for large workpieces, and a maximum of 3 layers should be applied. When welding crack-sensitive base materials, a buffer layer with a 307 type MMA electrode is required.
Properties: The weld metal hardness is approx. 550-650HV and can be ground. Very good resistance to medium impacts. Excellent weldability in all positions except vertical down.
The electrode should be used with DC+ or AC current. Welding positions: All positions, except vertical down.
Weld Metal Hardness (Approximate Values)
The weld metal hardness is approx. 550-650HV
Special Notes:
The SUPRADUR 600RB is a thick rutile-coated stick electrode specially developed for hardfacing unalloyed and low-alloy steels. It offers reliable protection against abrasive wear from mineral particles and against impact stress. The resulting weld metal hardness is in the range of approx. 57–62 HRC.
For crack-sensitive base materials or for multi-layer hardfacing, a tough buffer layer every three layers is recommended to reduce stress. This can be created with an unalloyed, basic electrode or a 307 type electrode.
Properties
- Weld metal hardness: approx. 57–62 HRC
- Post-processing only possible by grinding
- Excellent welding properties in all positions, except vertical down and overhead
- Suitable for DC (+ pole) and AC
