Description: 

The Böhler FOX SAS-4 A is a stabilized, core wire alloyed, austenitic stick electrode with a rutile coating. It was specially developed for Ti and Nb-stabilized CrNi steels such as 1.4571 / 316Ti and 1.4580 / 316Ti. This electrode offers outstanding welding properties, both with DC and AC current, and is characterized by high hot cracking resistance of the weld metal. It produces clean seams, and the self-detaching slag minimizes post-processing. The maximum operating temperature is 400ºC.

Notes:

Recommended heat input max. 1.5 kJ/mm, the interpass temperature should be max. 150ºC. Post-weld heat treatment is not necessary. In special cases, solution annealing at 1050ºC with subsequent quenching in water can be performed. Re-drying: if necessary, 120 – 200ºC for max. 2 hours.
