Description: 

The Böhler FOX SAS 2 is a stabilized, core wire alloyed stick electrode with a basic coating. It is specially developed for Ti- and Nb-stabilized CrNi steels such as 1.4541 / 321 and 1.4546 / 347. This electrode offers excellent welding properties in all positions, good control of the weld pool and slag, and easy slag removal. The welds are clean, which minimizes post-processing, and the X-ray safe weld metal exhibits high toughness properties. Therefore, it is particularly suitable for welding thick sections. Positional weldability is very good, and the electrode retains its toughness even at very low temperatures down to -196ºC. The maximum operating temperature is 400ºC.

Notes:

It is recommended to limit heat input to a maximum of 1.5 kJ/mm, and the interpass temperature should not exceed 150ºC. Generally, no heat treatment is required. However, BÖHLER FOX SAS 2 can also be used for claddings where stress relieving at approximately 590ºC is usually necessary. Such heat treatment can reduce ductility at room temperature, and in such cases, BÖHLER FOX E 347 H may be an alternative.
