Description:

The Böhler FOX EAS 4 M-A is a rutile-coated stick electrode with a core-alloyed wire. It corresponds to type E 19 12 3 L R / E316L-17 and is preferably suitable for processing austenitic steels such as 1.4404 and 1.4435 / 316L. This electrode is characterized by high current load capacity and produces extremely appealing, clean welds with minimal spatter. In addition, the slag can be easily removed. The weld seam shows high resistance to hot cracking.

This electrode can be welded with both direct current and alternating current. The maximum operating temperature is 400ºC.

Some important notes: The recommended heat input should not exceed 2.0 kJ/mm, and the interpass temperature should not exceed 150ºC. Normally, no heat treatment is required, but in special cases, solution annealing can be carried out at 1050ºC. If necessary, re-drying can be done at 250-300ºC for a maximum of 2 hours.
