Description:
BÖHLER FOX CM 2 Kb is a basic coated stick electrode. The weld metal of this type, consisting of 2.25% chromium and 1% molybdenum, has a bainitic microstructure. It is suitable for applications in the tempered condition, after quenching and tempering, and under certain conditions even in the as-welded condition. The areas of application include the joining of similar heat-resistant steels and cast steels, particularly in power plant construction and the chemical industry. BÖHLER FOX CM 2 Kb is approved for long-term applications at temperatures up to 600 °C. The very low content of accompanying and trace elements in the weld metal ensures a Bruscato factor of less than 15 ppm, which makes the electrode resistant to temper embrittlement and meets the requirements for step-cooling test conditions. The special coating of the stick electrode ensures a low content of diffusible hydrogen in the weld metal.

Special notes
Preheating, interpass temperature, and post-weld heat treatment must be adapted to the requirements of the base material in question.
As a guideline, preheating and interpass temperatures of 150 - 350ºC depending on the material thickness can be
recommended. Typical post-weld heat treatment temperatures are in the range of 650-750ºC.
