Description
Wire electrode MTC MT-307 made of austenitic chromium-nickel-manganese steel with low carbon content for TIG and MIG/MAG welding of dissimilar steels for operating temperatures up to +300°C; tough at low temperatures down to -120°C.
Important Base Materials for MT-307
Dissimilar steels (black-white connections); high-carbon and difficult-to-weld steels, such as manganese hard steel X120 Mn 12 (1.3401); buffer layers for hardfacing; cold-tough nickel steels, e.g. 10 Ni 14 (1.5637), 12 Ni 19 (1.5680).

Special Notes for MT-307
In the root pass, aim for as large a seam cross-section as possible; prevent overheating of the weld pool by adding sufficient filler rod. Maximum operating temperature for dissimilar metal joints is +300°C. For prolonged annealing treatment above +300°C or operating temperatures above +300°C, nickel-based welding consumables must be used. Weld metal hardens with cold deformation. Weld metal is scale-resistant up to +850°C.
