Stainless steel pickling paste - transparent - for removing scale and annealing colors in the area of weld seams and heat-affected zones, especially for shiny surfaces. Also suitable for aluminum substrates.

General information:

From a corrosion perspective, pickling is the best method to remove annealing colors, scale, foreign metals, and other metallic impurities.

The corrosion resistance of stainless steels is ensured by a thin, very dense film of oxides of the alloying components - the passive layer.

A disruption of this protective film by foreign rust, scale, annealing colors or the mechanical processing of the stainless steel surface can cause partial corrosion.

The basic prerequisite for the optimal formation of the protective passive layer is a metallically clean and as smooth as possible surface of the stainless steel.

Antox® stainless steel pickling products improve the resistance of stainless steels by:

• Easy removal of contaminants.
• Achieving a metallically clean surface.
• Supporting the reformation of a protective passive layer.

All Antox® stainless steel pickling products are free of hydrochloric acid and chlorides. In addition, Antox Profiline products are free of nitric acid or have a correspondingly reduced content.
