- AC: lowest heat input, favourable for fill pass welds
- Positive pole: higher welding speed, less penetration, higher beads
- Negative pole: pulsating arc, deep penetration, good sidewall fusion, flat beads
- Special notes: Universally applicable stick electrode for repair welding on cast iron parts. Weld short beads (30 - 50 mm), peen weld beads immediately and thoroughly to relieve stress. By appropriately choosing the polarity when welding with DC, certain properties can be achieved.
