A versatile chipping hammer in original Böhler Welding quality. The hammer features a solid and robust design. The edges, which are hardened at both ends, ensure easy handling and high effectiveness. Especially in arc welding, the welder can use the hammer to remove the slag formed on the weld seam. The hammer heads have a double-beveled edge at one end and a point at the other. The hammer can be used with all welding equipment and is approx. 26 cm long. Easy to use, even for inexperienced welders. Application

The use of fluxes usually leaves slag on welded workpieces. This crust serves to protect the molten pool from the negative effects of the outside air and must be removed after welding. A chipping hammer is used for this step.

After treatment with the chipping hammer, the weld site can be refined further by brushing or grinding. Pickling the seam may also be an option to remove discoloration or to chemically clean the weld site.

 

Maintenance and servicing

The hammer only rarely needs cleaning; due to its robustness and durability, it requires little maintenance.

However, the anti-rust coating should be intact and checked regularly.

If the paintwork should chip or become damaged over time, corrosion can only be avoided if the welding hammer is given a new anti-rust coating.
