Temperature limits: 550ºC in sulfur-containing environments, maximum 900ºC for highly stressed connections. Resistant to oxidation up to 1000ºC. Optimal for mixed joints of stainless steel and nickel alloys with unalloyed steels. Can also be used as a buffer layer in demanding applications; the high nickel content reduces carbon diffusion from unalloyed to stainless steel.
